About BBS and BMS

 

BBS, one of the most sought after professional courses of Delhi University, is committed to developing leadership skills among students with a deeper understanding of business operations. The curriculum of B.B.S. combines fundamental learning and case studies with a strong emphasis on concepts & theory. The intent is to encourage intellectual curiosity and open minds to innovative ideas by imparting practical knowledge.

 

The Department of Business Studies at Keshav Mahavidyalaya, believes in empowering the students and inculcating leadership qualities. This is achieved through Metamorphosis, a students’ body democratically formed by BBS and BMS students. It has given an opportunity to the students to grow professionally.

 

 “Metamorphosis”, the student society for BBS, works in a manner that justifies the meaning of the word Metamorphosis:  “A change which is gradual but impressive in nature”.

 

The department has successfully organised a number of events in the past which have not only gained popularity in the Delhi University, but have also been famous in the corporate sector and schools.

 

Participation and team building - Metamorphosis - The BBS & BMS Society

The BBS and BMS Society of students takes up the responsibility of organising various major events and activities annually. The prominent inter-college, inter-department and intra-department events other than C.E.O include:

 

• Cognizance: An annual corporate convention cum corporate festival for undergraduate students of various colleges that gives the participants an opportunity of interacting with eminent speakers from the corporate world and to participate in various competitive events like: Mock Stock, Street Play,Quiz, Ad-mad, Treasure hunt, Corporate Rangoli, Debate, etc. Some of the  eminent speakers who have addressed our students in previous conventions include: Prof. Raj S. Dhankar, Dean, FMS; Dr. Harsh Mander, Head, Centre forEquity Studies; Dr. Kiran Datar, Advisor, National Knowledge Commission; Col.Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Shooter and Olympian

 

• Guest Lectures and Seminars are a regular exercise that provide an opportunity for discussing relevant aspects of industry and economy with experienced people from different areas of specialization.

 

• Industrial Visits - Students visit the production plants to observe the automated production process, plant layout and quality control process. In the past we have visited companies like Relaxo Footwears Ltd., Yakult Danone India Ltd., Halonix, National Stock Exchange, LG, Honda Siel, Jubilant Organosys, and Railway Coach Factory.

 

• Friday Activities: The department gives a platform of participating and organizing in intra-department weekly Friday activity that helps students enrich themselves. To name a few these include: mock stock,debates, article presentations, Movie screening and interpretation, and interactive sessions for personality development. The participation in such activities makes students harness their wits and develop the ability to form an opinion and voice it effectively.

 

• Alumni Meet: A platform for the current batches to interact and hear from their esteemed alumni.
