

Marketing Mavericks - The Ad Mad Event
Event Description : For all those who possess a gift of spontaneity and the art of influencing to sell whatever is given at hand, Marketing Mavericks comes up with an opportunity to showcase their talents. This Competition will comprise of 2 rounds. First being Ad-Mad and second being an open market. In the first round, students will be asked to advertise a completely MAD product that will be allotted on the spot, in an equally MAD yet catchy manner. 8 teams of mavericks will be shortlisted for a grand finale in which they would be provided with a dummy product that they would be required to sell in a mock market.

Event Rules:
Round 1 Rules (Ad Mad)

Time limit is 2+1.

The students would be informed after 2 minutes have passed and a warning bell will be rung after 2 min, 45 seconds. The team shall be asked to stop at the end of 3 minutes.

Language used may be English or Hindi.

15 minutes preparation time will be given to all the teams.

Order of performance to be decided by draw of lots.

No electronic device or recorded music shall be allowed.

Students may use objects at hand as props, though no extra marks will be awarded for the same.

Judging Criteria: Creativity/Originality of thought, Humour, Spontaneity, Team efforts.
Round 2 Rules (Market)

10 minutes preparation time will be given to the students after which the market will be declared open. The Organising Committee will act as buyers.

2 students will manage the shop while other 2 will be hawkers and persuade the buyers to go to their shop

The selling time will be divided into 2 periods of ten minutes each. After the first period teams will be given a chance to change their prices if necessary and come up with new selling propositions.

Judging criteria: Creativity of thought (USP of the product), No. Of units sold, Profitability, Convincing Power.
