About Keshav Mahavidyalaya
Keshav Mahavidyalaya is a constituent college of University of Delhi. The college started functioning in August 1994 with two courses B.Sc. (Gen.) Computer Science and B.Com. (Hons.). In later stages, other courses like B.Sc. (Hons.) Electronics, B.Sc. (Gen.) Mathematical science, PGDCA were introduced.
The foundation stone of the present campus in Pitampura was ceremoniously laid by Ms. Sheila Dikshit, the former Chief Minister, Govt. of NCT Delhi on March 23, 2003. The campus sprawls on 10 acres of land. We are proud to be one of the finest buildings comprising of an air conditioned Auditorium with a seating capacity of 800 people, Seminar Room, Lecture Theatres, one of the best equipped Laboratories, a well-stocked library and spacious & comfortable classrooms.
It has been an honour to the college to have always been among the front runners as far as allotment of any new computer courses is concerned. From the academic session 2007-08, the college has introduced four new courses namely B.B.S., B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics, B.Sc. (Hons.) Maths and B.A. (Hons.) Psychology.
Under the able guidance of our principal, Dr. Madhu Pruthi, the college, in a very short span of time has been able to carve out a niche for itself by delivering good results in Delhi University exams. The college believes that for the all-round development of students, it is necessary to involve them in some extracurricular activities.
In this direction, the college organizes freshers’ welcome, Annual Cultural Festival, Annual Day, Annual Farewell every year and annual events organised by respective departments. The college also has a Rotaract Club, a dance society (ADVAITAA), music society (ANHAD), debating society (VAGMITA), street play society (SHADES), theatre society (AAGHAZ), photography society (ILLUMINATI) and societies in each department give a platform to the students to organise and participate in various events.
